General Packing and Shipping information
Before making a request to get a shipping quote please keep in mind the basic instructions and requirements for most courier shipping companies.

Ship size and weight:
Express services –
- Maximum weight – 150 lbs (68 kg)
- Maximum length – 108“ (274 cm)
- Maximum length + girth – 130” (330 cm)
Ground services –
- Maximum weight – 150 lbs (68 kg)
- Maximum length – 108“ (274 cm)
- Maximum length + girth – 165” (419 cm)
Measuring Girth
Add the width and height and multiply by 2
Example – Height = 10” and Width= 20” then the Girth will be 10” + 20” = 30” x 2 = 60“ (60 inches)
What is the use of dimensional weight and what is it?
Shipping a large box of feathers or packing peanuts might weigh 10 lbs, however, it takes up a lot of space in the truck or the plane etc. The very same size box with playground sand might weigh 120 lbs.
Courier companies charge the highest of the 2 weights. If the volumetric weight is 45 lbs, then the feathers will be charged at a weight of 45 lbs and the sand in the same size box will be charged at 120 lbs, since this is higher than the dinesional weight.
Fedex calculates volumetric weight as:
Volume (L x W x H) cubic inches divided by 139
Volume (L x W x H) cubic centimetres divided by 5,000
Good packing is important and requires patience and time.
- Pack everything as tightly as possible.
- Always add a card, label, or contact information in the box.
- Use a strong box.
- Use a double wall box if the item is heavy.
- Remove all addresses and old labels from the box before you ship.
- Use a double box with fragile items with at least 3” (8cm) cushioning.
- Do not ship any prohibited items.
